Quick Answer

Create a customer-owned Cloudflare account, verify the account email, enable two-factor authentication, add a valid payment method, and invite support@networkthinking.com as a Super Administrator. Then notify NTS so we can prepare the DNS migration and domain transfer.

Set Up a Cloudflare Account for NTS Management

Before You Start

Set aside about five minutes and make sure you can access the email inbox and payment method you will use for the account.

The Cloudflare account must remain owned by your organization. Use your own business email address, preferably a durable company-managed address rather than an employee's personal email.

Do not send NTS your Cloudflare password or two-factor authentication codes. Access will be granted through Cloudflare's member invitation system.

Step 1: Create and Verify Your Cloudflare Account

2.Enter the business email address that should own the account and create a unique, secure password.
3.Select Create account.
4.Open the verification message Cloudflare sends to your email address and follow the link to verify the account.
5.Sign back in to Cloudflare and confirm that your email address is marked as verified under My Profile.

A verified email address is required before you can invite another account member. If the message does not arrive, check your spam folder or use the Send verification email option in My Profile.

Step 2: Secure the Account

1.In the Cloudflare dashboard, open My Profile and select Authentication.
2.Enable two-factor authentication using an authenticator app or a security key.
3.Download or copy the recovery codes and store them in your organization's password manager or another secure location.

Keep the account email, password, two-factor method, and recovery codes under your organization's control. NTS will use its own invited login.

Step 3: Add a Payment Method

1.In the Cloudflare dashboard, select the account you just created.
2.Open Billing, then go to Payment Info or Payment Methods. Cloudflare may show either label depending on the dashboard view.
3.Add your credit card or another payment method accepted by Cloudflare, and save it as the default payment method.
4.Confirm that the billing profile and payment method are valid.

A valid payment method is required before a domain registration can be transferred to Cloudflare Registrar. Cloudflare charges applicable transfer and renewal fees directly to your organization.

Step 4: Invite Network Thinking Solutions

1.From the Cloudflare dashboard, select your account.
2.Go to Manage Account, then Members.
3.Select Invite.
4.In the Invite members field, enter support@networkthinking.com.
5.For Scope, choose the entire account so NTS can complete the DNS and registrar work requested for this engagement.
6.Under Overall roles, turn on Super Administrator – All Privileges.
7.Select Create policy. In this screen, a policy is simply the permission assignment that combines the account scope and role for the invited member; it does not create a firewall, security, or Cloudflare Access policy.
8.After the permission policy appears on the invitation, select Continue to summary. If Invite Members was previously disabled, it should become available after the policy is created.
9.Carefully verify the email address, entire-account scope, and Super Administrator role, then select Invite to send the invitation.

Super Administrator access includes broad control over account settings, billing, DNS, and domain registration. Grant this role only because NTS needs to manage the planned migration. You can change or revoke our access after the work is complete.

Step 5: Let NTS Know

After sending the invitation, reply to your NTS project email or email support@networkthinking.com. Tell us the Cloudflare invitation has been sent and include the domain name being transferred.

Do not include your Cloudflare password, two-factor code, recovery codes, full card number, or domain authorization code unless an NTS engineer requests the authorization code through an approved secure channel.

What NTS Will Do Next

After accepting the invitation, NTS will coordinate the remaining work with you:

•Review and reproduce the DNS records needed for your website, email, and other services.
•Prepare the Cloudflare zone and coordinate the nameserver change to minimize downtime.
•Confirm that the domain is eligible to transfer and guide you through unlocking it and obtaining the authorization code from the current registrar.
•Initiate the registrar transfer when the domain is active on Cloudflare and all prerequisites are met.
•Verify website hosting, email delivery, and other DNS-dependent services after the change.

A registrar transfer can take up to 10 days. Domains registered or transferred within the last 60 days, or affected by certain recent registrant-contact changes, may be temporarily ineligible. NTS will confirm the timing before starting.

Account Ownership and Ongoing Access

Your organization remains the owner of the Cloudflare account, billing relationship, and domain registration throughout the process.

After the migration is complete, you may keep NTS access for ongoing managed support, reduce the assigned permissions if the support scope changes, or revoke access from Manage Account → Members.
